Artificial Intelligence Literacy Seminar at Alvana Model Secondary School
On the 12th of November, 2025, LoisBasil Charity Foundation brought this vision to life with an inspiring Artificial Intelligence Literacy Seminar at Alvana Model Secondary School, Owerri. The event was a vibrant exploration of emerging technologies and their critical role in shaping modern education and future career pathways.
During the event, 50 eager Senior Secondary School Year 3 students were engaged in hands-on training, practical demonstrations, and thought-provoking discussions designed to illuminate the power of AI.
From unpacking the fundamentals of what AI is and how it is trained to live walkthroughs of cutting-edge tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, each session helped bridge the gap between the classroom and the digital frontier. The curriculum also heavily emphasised AI ethics, ensuring students understand responsible usage.
The day culminated in an interactive Q&A that sparked curiosity and encouraged students to envision new possibilities fueled by technology.
Nurturing a Digitally Fluent Generation
This initiative marks a significant milestone in our journey to nurture a digitally fluent generation ready to innovate and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s evolving knowledge economy.
Looking forward, LoisBasil Charity Foundation is inspired by the enthusiasm witnessed at Alvana Model Secondary School and remains steadfast in our long-term vision: to expand this initiative and reach 50,000 secondary school students across Nigeria.
